ABOUT US:

Bola Dauda PhD, Life and Business Coach, writer and public speaker.

Bola Dauda is a son of a peasant farmer and a petty trader from South Western Nigeria. His parents were illiterate and he was the first to go to school among his extended family. He researched his birthday and learned that he was born thirteen days after a child whose birth was recorded on January 20, 1949. He therefore calculated rightly or wrongly that he was born on February 1, 1949.

Bola’s parents divorced before he was one year old and his extra-ordinary life experiences were informed by his informal and formal education of growing up in a peasant community in Nigeria. He walked over a mile to and fro everyday to attend a new village primary school. He moved to a secondary school in town and also experienced seven years of boarding schools’ life. He squatted for two years in the university and had his one-year national youth service in the old Benue-Plateau state of Nigeria. He has now lived for over twenty years in the industrialised United Kingdom.

Obviously his varied experiences, insights, values and beliefs which form the loud and clear poetic, philosophical and stoic voices of his writings are shaped by his stern upbringing and many years of interactions with the world. Dr Dauda had his first degree in social sciences with honours in Government/Philosophy/Economics from the old University of Ife renamed Obafemi Awolowo University and his master’s and doctorate in Public Policy from the University of Liverpool. He is an honorary fellow of the University of Leicester and a life member of the UK Coaching Academy. He has travelled widely, and loves walking, and reading people.

As a scholar he contributed chapters to books and published in reputable academic journals in Europe, United States, Africa and Asia. His writings had been translated into Spanish, Chinese and French. He is written half a dozen books. His first book, The Will to Succeed, Macmillan, 1981, sold over 100,000 copies. He is married with four successful professional children. He lives in Great Britain and after successful careers in the civil service and academia; he is now fulltime writer, life coach, and runs home-based business to help people save money or make money whichever they prefer! He also shuttles to visit his family in Cambridge, London, Paris and Ibadan. Dr Dauda’s writings have been universally acclaimed as refreshing, inspiring, uplifting, truthful, down-to-earth and honest. He established Robin Books as a publishing company in 2003.
